The End?

By May 1978 when the building was closed down by the developers, there had been over 80 shows by more than 60 artists.  Building work began after all the artists along and around the wharf had been evicted – including Derek Jarman, Mikey Cuddihy, Simon Read, The X6 Dance Collective (now Chisenhale Dance Space) and many others.  The members of 2B, friends and associates continued to develop their art in many directions both as individual artists, lecturers at many Art Colleges nationally, and as members of new initiatives in time based and related media - London Video Arts (now LUX), Housewatch, The Basement Group and the high profile developments from it in Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East to name only a few.
