MALDOROR

'Maldoror' is an Anglo-German feature film collaboration, shot on Super 8, undertaken by 12 underground filmmakers +/or groups from either land (6 of the 8 British contributions came from members of the Exploding Cinema). Each participant was given a section from this proto-Surrealist novel, and instructed to realise it however they wished (at their own expense) ... Part of the ethos behind this was to produce a feature film "at used car prices", with a minimal amount of post-production funding from Germany allowing for a blow up to 16mm and the striking of a couple of prints for subsequent exhibition (further details available at www.bak.spc.org/maldoror ).
